Contact Lenses

Contact Lenses

Although the social stigma associated with glasses is a thing of the past, some people still find glasses something of a burden: the upkeep, remembering where they put them, stopping them from falling off during vigorous activity!

Then, there are those people who feel they just don’t suit glasses and no amount of style advice and flattery can persuade them otherwise.

Fortunately, thanks to advances in technology and production techniques, most people can wear contact lenses. Even if you are perfectly happy with your glasses, there must be times when you wished you had contact lenses – playing sports, going out in the rain, coming in from the cold, or on a crowded dance floor…

First choice for contact lenses in Liverpool

At Silverberg’s we offer a wider selection of contact lenses than any opticians in the North West.

After qualifying as a Contact Lens Optician in 1988, Ian Silverberg has strived to help as many people who want contact lenses fitting as he can.

We have a wide range of different types of contact lenses from a variety of suppliers including Johnson and Johnson, Bausch and Lomb, Coopervision, Alcon and more.

Most opticians will do a range of lenses that will work for a majority of people and ignore the rest, often finding them too time-consuming. This is not how we work and, therefore, if you have been told in the past that you cannot wear lenses, we can often help.

And don’t forget that we teamed up with Johnson & Johnson and Terracycle® to offer you a soft contact lens recycling service, free and available regardless of which brand of lens you use.

Ortho-K

Ortho-K contact lenses

Worn while you sleep, these advanced lenses work overnight to improve short-sightedness by temporarily correcting the shape of the cornea. They are removed in the morning and the eye retains the new shape during the day providing clear, natural sight without having to wear lenses.

This option is an alternative to laser eye surgery for many patients and is a revolutionary method to prevent the worsening of short-sightedness in children. If your child is predisposed to hereditary short-sightedness, this could be a great solution to safeguard their sight for later in life. Click here to find out more about our Myopia Control options.
