About Emilio Pucci

Born in 1914 to one of Florence's oldest families, Emilio Pucci, The Marquis of Barsento, began his fashion career unexpectadly in 1947 when a photograph of a streamlined ski outfit he had created on a whim found its way to the pages of Harpers Bazaar.

A brilliant colourist, he drew inspiration from natire, architecture and exotic cultures to create his signature prints, infusions of kaleidoscopic colours in graphic, abstract patterns.

With his bold new designs and radical approach to fashion he soon became a fashion phenomenon, crowned "The Prince of Prints" by the international fashion press.

Not limited to ready-to-wear, Emilio Pucci's universe, his colours and his creative genius always extended beyond fashion to include lifestyles, perfumes, design and, of course, eyewear. His trailblazing vision continues to reverberate to this day.

Today creactive director Matthew Williamson carries on the legacy of the Maison and takes the brand into the 21st century.
