Why can’t I place an order online?

Are your sunglasses original brands?

All items that we sell are original and authentic brands. We only stock items from the most reputable sources, and the authenticity of every brand and/or manufacturer is guaranteed.

What do the prices include and what currency are they displayed in?

All our prices include:

  • UK VAT
  • the authentic case and cloth of the designer sunglasses
  • the exclusive Silverberg Opticians cloth.

All prices are in GBP (United Kingdom Pounds).


Are the items in stock? How can I check this?

Almost all our items will always be in stock, only on the very rare occasions we will be temporarily out of stock on certain items. If this is the case a back order will be placed with our suppliers, which should take no longer than 7-10 working days. However it can be longer as we are dependant on our suppliers. You will be informed and updated by e-mail of the current situation. If the goods are still unavailable you will be notified and an option of an exchange or refund will be offered.

If your order is urgent, then do not hesitate to e-mail us with a description of the product and we will personally check the availability of the item and inform you as soon as possible.


Can you obtain and distribute stock items that are not on the Silverberg Opticians website?

Yes we can!! We are a stockist of nearly every range of designer eyewear that is currently available and 99% of the time we will be able to deal with your request and obtain the item.

Please e-mail Customer Services with:

  • the designer make
  • the model code
  • the colour
  • and the size of the item(s).

Once we have received the relevant information, we will then send an e-mail to you with details of the items availability and other information including cost of the product and approximate dispatch date, dealing with your request as quickly as possible.


Do your sunglasses protect my eyes?

All our sunglasses are guaranteed to absorb more than 99% of harmful UVA & UVB rays, many are 100% as indicated in individual product descriptions. They meet ANZI Z80.3 high UV protection standards and have been proven and recommended in accordance with the latest guidelines. They reduce infra-red rays and filter colour while maintaining high levels of visible contrast.

Impact resistant lenses have passed the FDA requirements (FDWA1). As a result, they are almost unbreakable under normal use. They are lightweight, comfortable, durable and reduce glare.

Many of our sunglasses have been designed and created to have optically-decentered lenses for your comfort.


What are the differences in your lens types?

Polycarbonate Lenses: These are a higher quality material than standard acrylic lenses. They are particularly popular on one-piece and sports styles due to the ability of the material to bend without breaking and to be shatterproof.

Polarised Lenses: Polarised lenses have the benefit of filtering out reflected light and glare off water, pavement and snow. This lens works great for fishing, boating, driving or any other glare intensive activity. Polarised lenses are the best way to eliminate both glare and UV light. Polarisation is achieved by magentically aligning the plastic/polycarbonate fibres in the lens to reduce refraction as light passes through the lens.

Flash Mirror Lens Coating: A special treatment is applied over the base tints to reduce light and glare. Flash mirror gives a slight mirror finish to the lens.

Does Silverberg Opticians send orders abroad? If so, how much does this cost?

You can arrange for orders from Silverberg Opticians to be dispatched all around the world. The costs for this are £9.99 to Ireland or Europe, and £19.99 to the Rest of the World. Delivery to the UK starts from as little as £5.00.


When can I expect them to be delivered?

All orders are sent out the same day if placed before 15:00, Monday to Friday, or the next working day if placed after 15:00 or over the weekend. They are sent by Royal Mail via Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery in the UK. However, please allow 3-5 working days delivery time due to weekends, postal problems or unforeseen circumstances. Orders for the EU should be received within 5-7 working days and international orders are generally received in less than 28 days.
Things that may affect your order and slow down the delivery service:

  • your item is not being delivered to the billing address and security checks slow the order down.
  • the item you purchased is out of stock (you will be informed via e-mail within 24 hours (Monday to Friday).
  • If your order is placed before 15:00 Monday - Friday the order will be shipped that day. Orders placed after 15:00
    may not be shipped until the following working day.
  • Next day delivery does not apply on public holidays.

In the unlikely event we are out of stock we will e-mail you to let you know when to expect them or offer an alternative. We carry a large stock so it is not often we will not have your order.

What happens if I do not receive the sunglasses?

All of our sunglasses are sent Recorded or Special Delivery for your convenience, and will require a signature free of charge (UK only) so in the unlikely event you do not receive them you can contact us by e-mail at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. What happens if I am not happy with the sunglasses I order?

Our website has been designed so that you can see what our glasses look like. Our sunglasses are rigorously checked before being dispatched. If you are not happy with your order, we will exchange your glasses, or swap them for another pair of equal value, provided they are returned in unused condition within 7 days of purchase receiving your purchase. Please note where an item is not faulty we will charge 5% re-stocking charge and original postage charges will not be refunded.

How do I cancel an order?

Is payment secure?

Yes, we understand that Security is probably one of the most significant concerns for both the shopper and the retailer during online transactions. In reality an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by FAX, as the information transmitted online is highly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations. Our site uses the SSL (secure Server) technology certified by Protx, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring that both the shopper and retailer can be reassured that the transaction is secure.

Do I have to pay for my order online?

No, you don’t have to pay online although this is the option preferred by most; you can place your order over the phone or by cheque. To order by cheque please note down the sunglasses you wish to order and include this information in an accompanying letter. Don’t forget to include your delivery address, contact telephone number and email address. Also when ordering by cheque please remember to add postage and handling to the total (see Delivery Information). We will only accept payment in GB Pound Sterling.


I want to buy your glasses but dont have a credit card?

You can pay by cheque made payable to "Silverberg Opticians" and sent to our postal address below, but please allow 5 extra working days for the cheque payment to clear. Also when ordering by cheque please remember to add postage and handling to the total (see Delivery Information). We will only accept payment in GB Pound Sterling.
