Juan Carlos Antonio Galliano Guillén, AKA John Galliano, was born in in Gibraltar in 1960 to Spanish and Gibraltarian parents.

 

Aged 6, he and his famliy relocated  to London, where he would later erol in St Martins College.

  He graduated with a first class honors in fashion design in 1984 with a collection inspired by the French revolution – it was bought out in its entirety by Browns.

 

He has been awarded British designer of the year in 1987, 1994 and 1995. In 1997, he shared the award with Alexander Mc Queen, Galliano’s successor at Givency.

 

 

He has collaborated with Kylie Minogue, designing the costumes for her ‘Let’s get to it’ tour and Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen and Linda Evangelista are all permanent fixtures at his shows.
